Barrington School District Employee Organization (BSEO) was organized in 1973. Prior to that time, many ambiguities and contradictions regarding employees existed.  There were no set policies for hiring, salaries, hours or insurance.  The BSEO was formed to correct these inconsistencies and to provide a unified voice for this important segment of district employees.  Belonging to the BSEO also includes membership in the IEA (Illinois Education Association) and NEA (National Education Association).  Through these organizations we have access to legal services and help with contract negotiations.

Current Membership
Barrington Community Unit School District #220 is a district made up of 12 schools:  1 high school, 2 middle schools, and 9 elementary schools.  It employs 350+ classified employees.  Currently, 90% of these employees are members of BSEO with full benefits.  The remaining are fair share fee payers.
