Barrington School District Employee Organization (BSEO) was organized in 1973. Prior to that time, many ambiguities and contradictions regarding employees existed. There were no set policies for hiring, salaries, hours or insurance. The BSEO was formed to correct these inconsistencies and to provide a unified voice for this important segment of district employees. Belonging to the BSEO also includes membership in the IEA (Illinois Education Association) and NEA (National Education Association). Through these organizations we have access to legal services and help with contract negotiations. CURRENT MEMBERSHIPBarrington Community Unit School District #220 is a district made up of 12 schools: 1 high school, 2 middle schools, and 9 elementary schools. It employs 360+ classified employees. Currently, 90% of these employees are members of BSEO with full benefits. The remaining are fair share fee payers. There are many benefits you can gain by becoming a full member of BSEO that you may or may not have been aware of. Please visit the Benefits Page to find out what you can gain by joining BSEO. To become a member of BSEO, just fill out the application you receive through inner school mail and return it back to "BSEO Membership, Cheryl Jellovitz, Hough Street School" through inner school mail. If you don't receive one, please contact our membership chairperson and she will send you one. |
